The Brain Injury Alliance provides community program grants to supplement the existing funding from health authorities and governments to member agencies.
Members must insure their membership is kept current, and that they remain in good standing.
WHO CAN APPLY
- Community non-profit brain injury associations that provide comprehensive services to people with acquired brain injuries in British Columbia.
- Must be a Canadian registered charitable organization according to the federal income tax act, and;
- Must be a registered British Columbia non-profit society in good standing, and;
- Must be a Brain Injury Alliance member.
ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS
- One-on-One client services
- Group services for clients
- Community Education
- Brain Injury Prevention
ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
- Direct program costs (for eligible programs)
- Wages
- Staff development
- Facility costs (10% maximum of budget)
- Administration costs (10% maximum of budget)
INELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING
- Non-Brain Injury Alliance members
- Religious and political purposes
- Out of province travel
- Capital expenses (except for those specifically required for eligible programs)
- Special events
- Subsidizing fee-for-service programs
- Fundraising costs
- Debt reduction costs
- Research
- Assessments
Successful applicants must recognize the Provincial Government and the Brain Injury Alliance on their website, as well as when a funded program is written about in print, on their website or other media.
- Programs do not need to be new to qualify for funding. Existing programs are eligible.
- Organizations can apply for a maximum of four programs per year.
- Organizations can apply for up to four (4) community program grants per year, including a maximum of one (1) Community Education/Injury Prevention program.
- Applications must be downloaded and saved to your desktop to open and complete.
- Brain Injury Alliance funds are primarily to support persons living with an acquired brain injury, so please keep program supplies limited to necessities.
- Brain Injury Alliance funding may not be used to fund clients or programs that are funded by or operate strictly on a fee for service basis.
- The term “fee-for-service” applies to mandatory, voluntary, or requested fees that a user pays for services provided.
- Do not include in-kind or volunteer contributions in either revenue or expense amounts.
- Completed applications must be received by the Brain Injury Alliance no later than midnight of Aug 31, 2023.
