Location: British Columbia – while the job is listed as remote, there is some in person work, so in province applicants are very strongly preferred.

Compensation: $48,000 – $51,000 (commensurate with experience)
About Brain Injury Alliance: Brain Injury Alliance is a pioneering organization committed to effectively managing the administrative aspects of the Alliance’s operations in alignment with the strategic vision established by the Board of Directors. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to fill the role of Executive Director. This part-time contract position involves concentrated work periods, typically spanning from April to July and September to October.
Job Summary: As the Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading the administrative functions of Brain Injury Alliance. This role involves collaborating closely with the Board of Directors, managing communication, overseeing operations, and driving financial management. Additionally, you will bring your expertise in government relations to enhance the organization’s engagement and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Government Relations
· Foster relationships and collaboration with government agencies and other intergovernmental entities to advocate for the needs and interests of Brain Injury Alliance.
· Monitor legislative and policy developments relevant to brain injury and disability services, and provide timely updates to the Board.
· Represent the organization in intergovernmental meetings, conferences, and working groups to promote awareness and drive positive change.
Administrative Leadership
· Identify internal and external issues that impact the Alliance and inform the Board of Directors appropriately.
· Conduct official correspondence on behalf of the Board and collaborate with them when necessary.
· Respond to inquiries from member agencies, stakeholders, and the public, following Alliance policies and consulting with the working committee as needed.
· Compile and review data from member reports, presenting findings to the board during quarterly meetings.
· Prepare reports and position papers as requested by the board.
· Oversee and manage the Alliance’s website and online presence.
Operational Management
· Ensure the Society’s operations align with the Board’s direction and contractual obligations.
· Supervise day-to-day operations to guarantee efficiency and effectiveness.
· Align programs and services with the Society’s mission and Board priorities.
· Participate in long-term, annual, and project planning tasks with the Board.
· Organize meeting logistics, attend board meetings locally and in other regions, and document minutes.
Financial Planning and Management
· Collaborate with the working committee and the Board to develop the annual society budget.
· Handle accounts payable and receivables, obtaining approval from the working committee before processing payments.
· Maintain financial records and liaise with the external bookkeeper for accurate accounting.
· Prepare financial records for audits and assist in the audit process.
· Research funding sources, develop fundraising strategies, and craft funding proposals.
· Secure and maintain funding for the Society’s operations and participate in fundraising activities.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in government relations and administrative leadership roles.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Knowledge of brain injury or disability services is a plus.
· Familiarity with financial management and budgeting.
· Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
· Proficiency in office software and digital communication tools.
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred but not required).
